The continuing saga of Lane Kiffin has mostly died down since its peak hysteria, with assistant coaches starting to settle into Baton Rouge and Kiffin finding new hot yoga joints in town.

Another piece of the Kiffin puzzle also has sorted itself out, as his son Knox reportedly has chosen which high school he will attend and play quarterback for in 2026: University Lab High School in Baton Rouge.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett shared that news on Monday evening:

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Class of 2028 product has received a healthy bit of early recruiting interest, including a scholarship offer from former Alabama assistant and current California coach Tosh Lupoi.

The younger Kiffin passed for 1,236 yards and 14 touchdowns against 2 interceptions in 2025 as a sophomore for the Oxford Chargers – who went 11-2 and won the Mississippi Class 7A, Region 2 championship before losing to Tupelo in the playoffs. Kiffin split time with junior Drew Dean, who finished with 1,414 passing yards and 12 touchdowns against 3 interceptions. University Lab went 10-3 in 2025, losing in the third round of the Louisiana state playoffs.

The elder Kiffin was infamously hired by LSU on Nov. 30 after a contentious separation from Ole Miss – where he coached for 6 seasons.
