New LSU head coach Lane Kiffin did not coach the Tigers in their 38-35 Texas Bowl loss to Houston on Saturday night, but he attended the game to watch his new team. He probably, though, wasn’t expecting to talk about grocery shopping while in Houston.
Kiffin was recently the talk of social media when a TikTok video made the rounds, showing that he brought groceries home in the store’s basket. Kiffin, set to earn $91 million over 7 years as LSU’s head coach, explained himself by saying he did not want to pay extra for a grocery bag and figured the basket was the most efficient way to bring the groceries home.

The grocery store trip came up when Kiffin visited the ESPN booth to be interviewed with Cole Cubelic and Tom Hart. Cubelic amusingly gave Kiffin a plastic grocery bag. Kiffin also stated that the shopping basket was returned to the grocery store.
