Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels lost a heartbreaker to Mississippi State Thursday night 24-22.
The Bulldogs defense suffocated the Rebels offense for much of the night; however, Kiffin’s offensive unit scored late to pull within 24-22 and had a chance to tie the game on the 2-point conversion. The shovel pass didn’t work.
Kiffin started 2-0 against Mississippi State during his career, but his team finished 1-4 down the stretch. However, all the speculation surrounding Kiffin will now turn to the Auburn job.
It was reported Wednesday night that Kiffin told his team that he anticipates coaching in Oxford next season.
After the loss to Mississippi State, Kiffin was once again asked if he anticipates coaching at Ole Miss next season.
