Lane Kiffin calls out SEC Nation analysts for picking Oklahoma against Ole Miss
Lane Kiffin was certainly feeling confident following his team’s 34-26 win over Oklahoma on Saturday, as his postgame interaction with Sooners defensive lineman David Stone went viral while he was also seen pumping his fists and yelling emphatically walking off the field.
And per usual, the 50-year-old coach proceeded to take to social media to gloat a bit more, with him poking fun at some of his friends over at SEC Nation.
The Rebels’ head coach had seen that Tim Tebow, Jordan Rodgers, Roman Harper and Paul Finebaum all selected Oklahoma to beat his side during their pregame show, and thus he posted a screenshot of their picks while tagging Tebow and Laura Rutledge with a pondering emoji.
Kiffin & Co. proved many wrong when they dropped 34 points on Oklahoma, the most Brent Venables’ team has let up this season. Of the 431 yards Ole Miss produced, 351 of those came through the air, as the Sooners’ vaunted pass rush did little to disrupt Trinidad Chambliss.
The aforementioned interaction with Stone saw Kiffin say “you’re not talking as much as you were before” prior to speaking with ESPN’s Molly McGrath, which was because the Oklahoma lineman had been talking to the Rebels’ sideline throughout the game about how they wouldn’t be able to score on his unit.
Kiffin will take that swagger back to Oxford when Ole Miss welcomes South Carolina to town next Saturday.
