The Ole Miss Rebels locked up the first 11-win regular season in school history Friday with a 38-19 victory over Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl, and speculation immediately centered on the coaching future of Lane Kiffin – either in Oxford or elsewhere.

Following the game, Kiffin was asked if he had made a decision about his future by ABC’s Taylor McGregor.

“No, I haven’t,” he said. “I’ve got a lot of praying to do to figure that out (Saturday). But right now I’m just going to go enjoy these players.”

Kiffin’s Rebels swarmed past the Bulldogs to win their third straight Egg Bowl and improve their all-time series lead to 67-46-6. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss overcame multiple stolen uniform tops before the game to throw for 359 yards on 23-of-34 passing and 4 touchdowns. Rebels running back Kewan Lacey piled up 143 rushing yards on 37 carries and scored a touchdown.

Kiffin has been the hottest commodity in college football in 2025 and is weighing a decision on either staying at Ole Miss or leaving for openings at LSU, Florida or even the NFL. The 50-year-old Kiffin is 55-19 in 6 seasons at Ole Miss, with 3 straight seasons of 10 or more victories. He is 116-53 overall in 14 seasons as a coach at Ole Miss, Florida Atlantic, USC and Tennessee.
