Lane Kiffin reacts to heartbreaking Ole Miss loss on social media
Former Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin sent a brief message on social media following the Rebels’ heartbreaking loss to Miami in the CFP semifinals on Thursday night.
Trinidad Chambliss led Ole Miss on a go-head drive late in the fourth quarter, but Carson Beck and the Canes responded with a game-winning drive of their own. Beck scored the game-winning touchdown with 18 seconds remaining in the game.
Shortly after the game went final, Kiffin commented on the result. He commended Ole Miss for an “amazing effort” and its “best season ever.” Here’s his message:
Kiffin also had something to say about the controversial final play of the game.
Ole Miss had one final chance to take the lead as time expired, but Chambliss’s pass fell incomplete. However, Ole Miss appeared to draw a pass interference penalty that wasn’t called. Here’s what Kiffin said:
It certainly was the best season in Ole Miss history, even if it was ultimately marred by Kiffin’s untimely exit for LSU. The Rebels won 13 games this season. Prior to 2025, they’d never won more than 11 in a single campaign.
Kiffin and LSU will head to Oxford next season on Sept. 19.
