If there is one constant in college football life, it is that new LSU coach Lane Kiffin is never too far away from his mobile device and X account.
Kiffin clearly was paying enough attention to the in-progress Oregon blowout of James Madison in the College Football Playoff Saturday night when he fired off the following tweet:
Fifth-seeded Oregon leapt out to a 13-3 lead through the first quarter on 12th-seeded James Madison before piling 21 unanswered points onto the Dukes in the second quarter en route to a 34-6 halftime lead.
The Dukes, who won the Sun Belt Conference title and controversially vaulted into the CFP Top 12 over 5-loss ACC champion Duke, were absolutely no match for the Ducks through the first 30 minutes.
Oregon rolled up 360 yards of total offense on James Madison, while the Dukes managed 197 yards of total offense. Ducks quarterback Dante Moore went 11-of-14 for 211 yards passing with 4 total touchdowns in the first half, but uncorked an interception late in the second quarter for Oregon’s lone offensive blemish. The combination of Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr. rushed for 133 yards on 7 carries, and Oregon’s 149 rushing yards on just 11 carries equaled to an insane 13.5 yards per carry.
James Madison managed a 30-yard Morgan Suarez field goal in the first quarter and got another 38-yard field goal from Suarez at the halftime gun.
