Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels will look to continue their pursuit to the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff when they take on the Florida Gators on Saturday.

Florida enters this game with some quarterback controversy, as DJ Lagway was pulled from the game during the loss to Kentucky.

Kiffin was asked on Wednesday what he has seen different from Lagway this season, and the coach talked about Lagway’s performance in the matchup last year.

“I don’t know that I’ve seen growth,” Lane Kiffin said. “I do know this, I watched the guy beat us last year and play great and have one of the highest yards per completion of any player in the country last year. I know the guy can play as well as anyone in the country at times and we gotta make sure that’s not against us Saturday night.”

In the game last year, Lagway threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-17 UF victory. When he was pulled last week against Kentucky, the Gators went with freshman quarterback Tramell Jones Jr.

Kiffin has heard his name linked to the Florida job, and it only made sense that he was going to be asked about the guy who figures to be the quarterback next season. Kickoff between these two teams is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN
