Knox Kiffin, Lane Kiffin‘s son, was a standout quarterback at Oxford High School in 2025, and the Class of 2028 athlete revealed Friday that he has received a scholarship offer from California coach and former Alabama assistant Tosh Lupoi. The elder Kiffin and Lupoi were both on Nick Saban‘s Crimson Tide staff from 2014-16.
“Some people just have conversations & give offers,” Knox Kiffin said via his X account. “Coach Lupoi watched film w/ me, highlighted some strengths of mine, & then noted some things I need to improve. He has been around many 1st round QBs. I’m blessed to receive an offer from the University of California!”
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound sophomore passed for 1,236 yards and 14 touchdowns against 2 interceptions for the Oxford Chargers – who went 11-2 and won the Mississippi Class 7A, Region 2 championship before losing to Tupelo in the playoffs. Kiffin split time with junior Drew Dean, who finished with 1,414 passing yards and 12 touchdowns against 3 interceptions.
It is unclear where Kiffin will play in 2026 – whether it is staying in Oxford where his father Lane coached at Ole Miss or moving to play at a Baton Rouge-area high school.
Cal finished 7-5 in 2025 and is set to play Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl on Dec. 24 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
