The lawyer representing Lindsey Miller, the stepfather of former Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, requestedย a 120-day extension to serve process onย Tunsil.

In a report by The Clarion-Ledger, Matt Wilson, the attorney for Miller in the lawsuit, filed a motion Friday in Lafayette County Circuit Court requesting that judge John Luther Kelly allow the extension. As the situation stands, Wilson has until Aug. 24 to deliver a copy of the lawsuit to Tunsil. Wilson filed the lawsuit on April 26.

Here’s how The Clarion-Ledger summarizes the situation:

Wilson would have until Dec. 22 to serve process if the extension is granted. He also wrote in the motion that he would accept an extension โ€œfor what other periodโ€ is deemed appropriate.

The lawsuit alleges assault and battery, defamation of character and an intentional infliction of emotional distress following an incident last summer between Tunsil and Miller.

This is a messy situation, so it will be interesting to see how everything turns out. Tunsil, now with the Dolphins, has had a wild offseason to say the least.
