The No. 15 USC Trojans dropped their third game of the 2025 season on Saturday, losing to No. 9 Oregon by a final score of 42-27, watching their College Football Playoff hopes wash away in the process.
College GameDay was in town for this high-stakes matchup at Oregon, and that means that there were plenty of signs in the crowd from Duck fans poking fun at the Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley.
Riley was asked about some of the signs that read “Extend Lincoln Riley” following the loss, and what he thought about opposing fans wanting him to be resigned because they seemingly believe he is easy to beat. Riley, who was already in a less-than-chipper mood following the loss, responded in about the way one would expect him to.

“That might be the dumbest question I’ve been asked for as long as I’ve been a head coach, and I’ve been asked a lot of bad questions,” Riley says. “You oughta feel real embarrassed to ask that question. This is a professional thing, and you oughta try it.”
With this loss to the Ducks, Riley and the Trojans have more than likely missed out on the College Football Playoff once again. They will wrap up their regular season next week against their hated rival, UCLA.
