Plenty of Stan Lee fans came out in droves last week after the iconic comic book creator and revolutionary died. Those tributes extended on Sunday to the NFL and the Atlanta Falcons’ Mohamed Sanu.

Sanu and the Falcons are set to play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and his custom-made cleats will pay tribute to Lee’s life and career.

Lee was a transformative leader, who created Marvel superheroes Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk. He died Monday in Los Angeles at 95.

As the top writer at Marvel Comics and later as its publisher, Lee was widely considered the architect of the contemporary comic book, according to an Associated Press obituary. He reportedly revived the industry in the 1960s by offering the costumes and action craved by younger readers while insisting on sophisticated plots, college-level dialogue, satire, science fiction, even philosophy.
