Louisville is hoping to shake things up on the recruiting trail after luring Vince Marrow away from Kentucky in a GM role for the Cardinals. On Friday, one major domino fell.

That came in the form of Jarvis Strickland, a prominent offensive lineman and one of the top players in the state for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Strickland originally committed to Kentucky and Mark Stoops in March when Marrow was still in Lexington, but Strickland reopened his recruitment in the middle of June.

Marrow was originally Strickland’s primary recruiter at UK. Now, Strickland is committing to Louisville as a major addition to the recruiting class for Jeff Brohm:

Strickland is listed at 6-foot-6 and 294 pounds out of Paducah Tilghman High School. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Strickland is a 4-star prospect as the 35th offensive tackle in the entire country and the No. 2 player from Kentucky for the cycle.

The addition of Strickland adds to a major in-state push for the Cardinals. They now hold commitments from the top 3 Kentucky prospects and 4 of the top 5 in-state players.

Louisville is now up to 19 hard commitments for the cycle, a group that currently ranks 35th nationally per the 247 Sports Composite.
