Auburn lands elite dual-threat QB commit Lowell Narcisse

The Auburn Tigers became another elite dual-threat quarterback richer Monday.
Saint James, Louisiana, native Lowell Narcisse is one of the top quarterbacks in the country for the class of 2017, and he’s rated as the country’s No. 3 dual-threat signal caller and the state of Louisiana’s No. 3 overall player for ’17.
Narcisse committed to the Tigers Monday night, and he’ll fit perfectly in Gus Malzahn’s spread-em-out offense.

The southpaw is big-time athlete, listed at 6-3 and 200 pounds, and he threw for 5,134 yards and 58 touchdowns while rushing for 2,039 yards and 30 touchdowns during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
It’s always thought to have been an Auburn-LSU race for his commitment, with the Plains Tigers edging out the Bayou Bengals on commitment day. It’s not everyday LSU lets a coveted prospect out of the state, and Gus Malzahn and Rhett Lashlee did a wonderful job recruiting him.
It’s certainly a long time from National Signing Day 2017, but to land such a premier quarterback this early in the game certainly bodes well for putting together a big-time recruiting class. It helps the coaching staff build the class around the quarterback, and other prospects want to play with elite signal callers like Narcisse.
