LSU announces schedule change for series against Omaha

LSU baseball is set to play Omaha this weekend, but it will no longer be a 3-day series.
Ahead of Friday’s series opener, LSU announced that the final 2 games will be played in a Saturday doubleheader. The series finale originally scheduled for Sunday has been moved up due to inclement weather in the forecast.
For ticketing purposes, Friday is Game 5. Saturday’s first game is Game 6 and the finale is Game 7. All games will stream on SEC Network+.
It’s the second time this week that the Tigers have had to make schedule changes due to weather. LSU was scheduled to play at Nicholls on Wednesday. There was inclement weather in southeast Louisiana, and the game was called off. The in-state programs will now meet on Monday in Baton Rouge and on April 8 in Thibodaux. The April 8 was originally scheduled for Alex Box Stadium.
Skipper Jay Johnson may start to get a feel for his pitching depth as he juggles 4 games in 4 days including a doubleheader. Tiger hurlers had an excellent start to the season, logging 45 strikeouts in the season-opening series against Purdue Fort Wayne.
LSU enters this weekend’s series ranked No. 3 by D1Baseball.com. First pitch for Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
