LSU earned a major recruiting win in the class of 2027 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers picked up a commitment from 4-star safety Jayden Anding, who is regarded as one of the top prospects from the state of Louisiana in this cycle. LSU beat out Ole Miss and numerous other top programs for his commitment.

“Baton Rouge is a great place to be,” Anding told Geaux247’s Zack Nagy.

Anding is a massive addition for the Tigers. He’s currently ranked as the No. 311 player and the No. 26 safety in the country for the 2027 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 11 player from the state of Louisiana.

Anding attends Ruston High School in Louisiana, which is located about 200 miles away from LSU’s campus. He’s listed at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds.

Anding took visits to both Oxford and Baton Rouge before making this decision. His initial offer from LSU came back in August of 2025.

LSU is now up to 16 high school commitments in the class of 2027. The Tigers’ class is led by 5-star tight end Ahmad Hudson. Of LSU’s 16 commits, 12 are currently regarded as blue-chip prospects.

The Early Signing Period for the class of 2027 will take place in December.
