LSU sophomore defensive end Arden Key is three sacks away from tying the program’s single-season record of 12, which was set by Oliver Lawrence in 1989.

He thinks he can get all three during the team’s final home game — also known as “Senior Day” — against Florida this Saturday.

“I want to (tie) the school record, get it in the Florida game and send them (seniors) out with a bang,” said Key earlier this week, per The Advocate.

It’s not going to be easy; but it’s not an impossible goal. Florida will be without two starting offensive linemen and a third, Tyler Jordan, is questionable to play.

But even if he can’t reach the record in Death Valley, he’ll still have the regular season finale at Texas A&M and then a bowl game to finish his second season with the Tigers in record-breaking fashion.

Key’s nine sacks are tied for fourth all-time with five other players. He enters Week 12 with 14 career sacks after producing five as a freshman in 2015.
