The two players who joined LSU after spending time on NFL preseason rosters will reportedly not be included on the Tigers’ Week 1 roster.

The news broke late Friday night. LSU faced a Friday night deadline to submit its roster before Saturday’s season opener against Clemson.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, LSU submitted a roster with 103 players out of 105 available spots. Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris are the players who have received the necessary injunction to play. Both former Ole Miss players enrolled at LSU and took legal action for a 5th year of collegiate eligibility after being waived from preseason NFL rosters.

Thamel notes that the SEC’s ability to punish LSU is currently unclear. The two roster spots remain open, and LSU could add Wright and Harris at later dates as they’re enrolled at LSU.
