LSU added a big-time talent to its 2025 recruiting class on Thursday morning.

The Tigers picked a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Zion Williams. He chose LSU over multiple SEC rivals, including Texas and Texas A&M.

Williams is a significant addition for LSU this upcoming class. He’s the No. 298 overall player and the No. 33 defensive lineman in the country for the 2025 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 43 player from the Lone Star State.

Williams attends Lufkin High School in Lufkin, Texas, which is located on the East side of the state. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds.

He took a visit to Baton Rouge a little over a month ago. Williams also made trips to Arkansas, Texas A&M and TCU this summer prior to arriving at this decision. His offer list also includes programs such as Florida, Michigan State and Oklahoma, amongst others.

This is a major recruiting win for new LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis, who joined the program this past offseason. Davis is regarded as one of the best DL coaches in the country, which certainly seems to have made an impact in this recruitment.

LSU is now up to 13 commits in the class of 2025. Led by 5-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, LSU’s class sits at No. 9 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
