LSU transfer OL reportedly commits to Mississippi State
LSU transfer offensive lineman Tyler Miller might be leaving Baton Rouge after just one season, but it apparently doesn’t mean he’s leaving the SEC.
The 6-foot-6, 335-pounder has committed to conference rival Mississippi State, according to a report by On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday afternoon. Not only are the Bulldogs getting a top offensive lineman from a bitter SEC rival, they have the opportunity at least to have Miller around for a while. That’s because the prized recruit from the 2025 cycle will have 4 years of college eligibility left.
Miller was ranked among the top 25 offensive tackles during the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and there is this connection between the player and his reported new program — Miller is a Mississippi product, having played his high school football in Laurel, Miss.
Tuesday’s On3 report would mean that Miller ended up making a quick decision after Fawcett had also reported on Saturday that Miller was first entering the portal. So, exactly 3 days later, Miller has reportedly decided that he’s staying in the SEC and heading back to his home state.
Miller was highly sought after coming out of high school in Mississippi, fielding offers from 15 programs, including a slew from the SEC. After choosing LSU, the marriage didn’t last for more than one season, and Miller decided not to stick around for Lane Kiffin’s first season in Baton Rouge.
Apparently, the former 4-star prospect is choosing to start fresh in 2026, in a new locale but a very familiar state.
