After missing out on the entire spring, LSU standout junior linebacker Arden Key doesn’t apparently anticipate missing any time this fall.
LSU announced in February that Key would be taking a leave of absence from the team. While the exact reason behind the absence has not been publicly released, Key took it upon himself to control any rumor that he plans on skipping the upcoming season.

That’s huge news for LSU’s defense, as Key was an instrumental member of the Tigers defense last season. In his first year under defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, Key had a breakout season, finishing with 11 sacks and 55 total tackles last season. Key has hinted at a return before and this latest news has to continue to encourage Tiger fans that his return is imminent.
In a post-season article, Pro Football Focus rated Key as the SEC’s No. 1 returning player for 2017. Key is also perceived by many as one of the elite prospects for the 2018 NFL Draft.
