Mark Ingram, like many of the Alabama faithful, did not like what he saw from the Crimson Tide on Saturday against South Carolina.
No. 7 Alabama was not expected to struggle with an unranked South Carolina squad that had already dropped 2 conference contests. UA closed as a 19.5-point favorite at ESPN BET before kickoff.
The game did not go as expected. Alabama won 27-25, but South Carolina finished with more yards (374-313) and had the time of possession advantage by a final tally of 31:40-28:20. The Gamecocks took a 19-14 lead into the 4th quarter.
South Carolina scored a touchdown with 43 seconds left and had a chance to tie on the 2-point conversion, which was unsuccessful. The Gamecocks even recovered the on-side kick that followed but turned the ball over to end the game.
Ingram, the first Heisman Trophy winner in Alabama history, spoke out on social media after the game. The Big Noon Kickoff analyst called it a “great W,” but vented that it’s not encouraging heading into Week 8. Interacting with fellow former Crimson Tide standout Marquis Maze, Ingram shared that he’s tired of seeing Alabama “need a miracle every week.”

Ingram recently vented his frustrations with Alabama’s defense after the Week 7 loss to Vanderbilt on the Triple Option podcast he hosts with FOX colleagues Rob Stone and Urban Meyer.
Alabama travels to Knoxville for the Third Saturday in October showdown with Tennessee in Week 8. We’ll see what Ingram has to say after the rivalry clash.
