โIโm very excited to bring Shannon Dawson to the University of Kentucky,โ Stoops told Kentucky’s official website. โHe has done a great job in helping build programs to success on every level. Iโve been impressed with the balance of West Virginiaโs offense and how difficult they are to defend. I love the continuity he will bring to what weโve been doing as we build on the progress weโve made so far.
โIn learning more about Shannon, Iโve found out what a strong leader he is and heard nothing but good things about him throughout our profession.โ
Dawson held both titles at West Virginia the past three seasons during his four-year tenure with the Mountaineers. He will remain with West Virginiaย through its AutoZone Liberty Bowl matchup against Texas A&M on Dec. 29.
The Mountaineers ranked No. 11 overall in total offensive, averaging 502.1 yards per game. West Virigina also ranked No. 9 overall in pass defense with a 314.6 average.
