Marvin Burks Jr., 4-star safety from St. Louis, announces surprise SEC commitment

Marvin Burks Jr. was forecasted to stay close to home and play for Missouri. He’s now committed, however, to Ole Miss.
From St. Louis, Burks is a blue-chip safety prospect out of Cardinal Ritter College Prep. Friday night, Burks pledged to play for Lane Kiffin’s program.

Marvin Burks was favored by On3, 247Sports and Rivals to commit to Mizzou. The Cardinal Ritter defensive back committed to Ole Miss.

Burks is listed at 6-2, 190 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, he is rated 4-stars, the No. 10 Missouri product, No. 30 safety and No. 309 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023.
During his recruitment, Burks has picked up 35 scholarship offers. In June, he visited Ole Miss, Missouri and Texas A&M. Those 3 schools were in his final 5, along with LSU and Oklahoma.
