Mason Heintschel breaks ACC record for most passing TDs in a single game

Mason Heintschel has made ACC history.

In Week 1 against the Miami RedHawks, Heintschel threw 7 touchdown passes, breaking the ACC record for the most touchdown passes thrown in a single game by an individual player. For the afternoon, Heintschel completed 31 of his 41 passing attempts for 453 yards, 7 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He added 23 rushing yards with his legs.

Heintschel is entering Year 2 at Pitt following an up and down freshman campaign. He finished his freshman year with 2,354 yards passing and 16 touchdowns alongside 8 interceptions after taking over for Eli Holstein against Boston College. He finished 6-3 as a starter.

Pitt takes a step forward in competition next weekend as the Panthers host UCF. The game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
