And Max Johnson’s decision to transfer has led to his younger brother Jake to re-open his recruitment, as he announced below on his own Twitter account:
With much prayer and thoughtful consideration, I am de-committing from LSU. I am opening up my recruitment! I plan on early enrollment @Jakejohnson2022 @Max_Johnson_14 https://t.co/Zq4oWpdzj6

Max Johnson was named the Tigers’ starting quarterback following an injury to Myles Brennan before the season. He played in 12 games in 2021 and threw for 2,814 yards and 27 touchdowns versus just 6 interceptions, despite being benched in favor of Garrett Nussmeier against Arkansas.
As for Jake Johnson, he is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 tight end in the class of 2022. He is also ranked as the No. 7 player in the state of Georgia. Jake Johnson had been pledged to LSU since April.
