In the week leading up to his team’s big game against No. 3 Ole Miss, Florida coach Jim McElwain reached out via Twitter to a young cancer patient who’s fighting a much bigger battle.
Twitter user, @hey_its_kathryn, tweeted a picture to McElwain on Tuesday of a boy holding a sign that read, โDear Gators, Iโm beating cancer. Please beat Ole Miss.โ
McElwain responded by saying, โKeep fighting with everything youโve got, buddyโฆWe will keep fighting with everything weโve got to win for you.โ
According to one of @hey_its_kathrynโs previous tweets that included a link to aย Go Fund Me Page, the little boyโs name is Jay Ryon and is currently in a battle with leukemia.
