Florida coach Jim McElwain gave updates on two key issues surrounding the team beforeย speaking to the Gator Clubs of Tampa and Pinellas at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay on Wednesday night.
McElwain was asked about the status of receiver Antonio Callaway and quarterback Treon Harris, who have both been suspended indefinitely.
Gainesvilleโs Huntley Johnson, his lawyer, issued a news release on March 11 stating that Callaway’s discipline was handed down on Jan. 27 for a violation of the UF Student Code of Conduct.
McElwainย didn’t have any good news, or bad news for that matter, forย reporters at the event. He said there’s “nothing new” in reference to either player.
No update on Antonio Callaway's status, per #Gators HC Jim McElwain.

However, McElwain did have uplifting news for another player expected to be vital toย the Gators’ success this season.
McElwain revealed that offensive lineman Martez Ivey, who started each of the last eight games at left guard for the team last season, is making progress from the nagging shoulder injuryย that needed offseason surgery.
Florida coach Jim McElwain said OL Martez Ivey (shoulder) has been cleared to resume some light weight lifting.
