Miami DB has 3 SEC schools in Top 7

Three-star DB Naytron Culpepper of Miami Carol City is open to leaving the Sunshine State, but has definite interest in staying in SEC country.

The 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back released a Top 7 on Twitter this weekend. The SEC logos featured in the graphic are Arkansas, South Carolina and Tennessee. The tweet also includes a screenshot of a note explaining why he chose the schools shown.

According to 247Sports, which rates Culpepper as the No. 32 safety and No. 59 Florida prospect in its composite rankings, he has shown the most interest in Michigan State and South Carolina. Gamecocks defensive coordinator and secondary coach Travaris Robinson is leading the effort to bring Culpepper to USC. Robinson built a reputation as a South Florida recruiting ace in his previous coaching gigs at Florida and Auburn.ย Kentucky and LSU have also offered Culpepper, but did not make the cut.
