Miami Southridge (Miami, Fla.) running back Bentavious Thompson committed to his hometown Hurricanes back in February of 2015, but there’s a possibility that the marriage might come to an end before he even suits up for his first college snap.

Thompson (6-foot, 190 pounds), who is listed as a 3-star prospect and the No. 33 overall player at his position from the recruiting class of 2017 (according to 247Sports), took a visit to Baton Rouge over the weekend to watch LSU play its spring game.

He liked what he saw. A lot.

โ€œIt was great to watch,โ€ Thompson told SEC Country.ย โ€œI was worried about the running backs, (Leonard) Fournette and No. 5 (Derrius Guice). It was good to watch them.โ€

Thompson believes LSU’s offensive strategy aligns with his particular skill set and is similar to what he’s already used to.

โ€œIt would be a great fit for me,โ€ Thompson said. โ€œJust the offense that they run โ€” one running back, sometimes they run shotgun โ€” so I think that would be a good fit for me.โ€

In addition to Miami and LSU, Thompson also holds offers from Florida, Tennessee, Louisville, North Carolina, West Virginia, and more.
