Texas A&M coach Mike Elko shared a significant update on the Aggies’ roster on Thursday.

Elko announced that defensive lineman Chace Sims and running back Tiger Riden are out for the season due to injuries. Additionally, offensive lineman Nelson McGuire and wide receiver Jerome Myles have left the team due to personal reasons.

Sims is a redshirt freshman who was not expected to be a significant part of Texas A&M‘s defensive line rotation in 2026. He was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2025 and did not record any statistics for the Aggies last season.

Riden is also a redshirt freshman who was a 4-star running back in the class of 2025. He likely would have played a reserve role in the Aggies’ backfield this season behind Rueben Owens and Jamarion Morrow.

McGuire was set to be a reserve offensive lineman for Texas A&M this fall, likely at an interior position. He’s also a former 4-star recruit from the class of 2025.

Myles is perhaps the biggest loss โ€” he was a 5-star recruit in the class of 2025, rated as the No. 19 overall player in the nation for that cycle per 247Sports Composite rankings. However, he missed the entire 2025 season due to a season-ending injury in fall camp.

Texas A&M will open the 2026 season against Missouri State on Sept. 5.
