Mike Elko and the Texas A&M Aggies face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas this Saturday. The Aggies are 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in SEC play after dispatching Florida in Week 3.
Arkansas presents perhaps the toughest challenge the Aggies have faced all year alongside Notre Dame. The Razorbacks have an incredible offense under OC Bobby Petrino, led by QB Taylen Green.
Green is still a work in progress as a passer, but he’s especially dangerous because of his abilities as a runner mixed with a cannon for an arm. The Boise State transfer threw for 416 yards and a touchdown against Oklahoma State earlier in the year.
Here’s what Elko had to say regarding Green:
Mike Elko on Arkansas QB Taylen Green: “When a player has the ability to make explosive plays, it enhances your focus level from play to play.”
“Regardless of down-and-distance, area of the field or situation, he has the ability to create a play down the field.”

As mentioned earlier, Petrino has the Razorbacks offense rolling. RB Ja’Quinden Jackson, a transfer from Utah, is among the best running backs in the SEC this season and leads a deadly rushing attack. Jackson has totaled at least 75 rushing yards in all 4 games so far this season.
Arkansas has a top 20 scoring offense and sits at No. 16 in rushing yards per game through the first 4 games of the season.
Here’s what Elko had to say regarding Petrino:
Mike Elko: “Right now they’re a top-10 total offense in the country. … (Bobby Petrino) has them playing at a very high level.”
