Former Alabama safety Minkah Fitzpatrick has ended his contract dispute with the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins traded for Fitzpatrick earlier this offseason, but the former Pro Bowler was disgruntled upon his arrival to Miami. Fitzpatrick is entering the penultimate year of his contract and sought long-term security prior to the start of the season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Fitzpatrick and Miami have a new agreement in place as of Sunday morning. The parties have agreed to a “revised contract” that will add more than $16 million in signing bonus to Fitzpatrick’s deal. However, the deal does not include any additional years on his contract.

“We are comfortable with this commitment to Minkah as we continue to work with the Dolphins on a multi year extension,” agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN.

Fitzpatrick has been one of the NFL’s best safeties during his career. He’s been named to 5 Pro Bowl rosters and has earned 3 first-team All Pro selections during his 7 seasons in the NFL. Fitzpatrick will enter the 2025 campaign with 20 interceptions and 54 pass breakups on his résumé.

The Dolphins will open up the 2025 regular season against the Colts on Sept. 7.
