Mississippi State AD search: College football insider names 3 early candidates to replace John Cohen

Mississippi State AD John Cohen is reportedly leaving the Bulldogs for the same position at Auburn.
Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger was the first to break the news, and now he has come up with a list of potential replacements for Cohen in Starkville.
Per Dellenger, 3 names to keep an eye on for the Mississippi State AD position are: Georgia Southern’s Jared Benko, San Diego State’s John David Wicker and Eastern Michigan’s Scott Wetherbee:
Like any SEC AD job, the interest will be high to take over for Cohen.

All 3 of those names are currently serving as Group of 5 ADs.
Cohen had served as Mississippi State’s AD since 2016. He was previously the Bulldogs’ baseball coach from 2009 to 2016.
We’ll see if any other names surface for the Mississippi State search or if the Bulldogs’ new AD comes from the group Dellenger mentioned above.
