Mississippi State Associate head coach for offense Bush Hamdan is heading to the NFL. The Miami Dolphins are reportedly set to make Hamdan their new QBs coach after just two months in Starkville.
Jeff Lebby hired Hamdan on December 10 and was also set to work with receivers in Starkville. Obviously, this means that Mississippi State will be back in the hunt for a WRs coach for next season.
Hamdan most recently served as Kentucky’s offensive coordinator and QBs coach in 2024 and 2025, but he’s made stops at plenty of collegiate programs across the years. As far as SEC schools are concerned, Hamdan worked with Mizzou from 2020-2022 and Florida back in 2012 as the Gators’ WR coach.
As you can see above, Hamdan was a former Boise State quarterback from 2004-2008 and previously worked in the NFL just once – when he coached Matt Ryan to a strong season in 2017.
Now, Miami will have to see if Hamdan can work some magic on Tua Tagovailoa, or whoever the Dolphins decide to roll with at QB in 2026.
