Mississippi State went into the backyard of another SEC program to secure its latest commitment.

Charles Humphrey is out of Bearden in Knoxville, Tennessee. On Father’s Day, he announced his plans to take his talents to Starkville.

Humphrey shared the big news on social media.

Humphrey is listed as measuring 6-7, 291 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Humphrey is rated 3-stars, the No. 29 player in the state of Tennessee, No. 80 offensive tackle and No. 975 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

Thirteen programs, including Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and Oregon, extended scholarship offers to Humphrey during his recruitment. He felt that the Mississippi State coaching staff provided the best opportunity to be developed, so he committed to the Bulldogs.

It really was the experience the coaching staff have at my position,” Humphrey told Paul Jones of On3. “Coach (Jeff) Lebby was an offensive lineman and Coach (Phil) Loadholt played in the NFL for eight years as an offensive lineman. I believe they can help me produce and get me to where I need to be.
