Mississippi State is going black-on-black this fall with its uniform.
The school unveiled an all-black alternate jersey on Friday. The look features white accents and Mississippi State’s signature maroon, with “Hail State” stitched inside the collar above a state outline. The front neckline carries “State” in the school’s script. A video teaser of the announcement was released on social media.
According to Tia Reid of The Clarion Ledger, MSU will debut the uniforms on Sept. 6 when the Bulldogs host Arizona State.
It’s the second uniform reveal this week for Mississippi State as the season inches closer, and the fans can feel it. On Thursday, the program announced it will wear an all-white “Snow Bowl” throwback — white pants, white tops, and a white helmet — on September 27 against Tennessee to mark the 25-year anniversary of the 2000 Independence Bowl win over Texas A&M.
The Bulldogs are looking to rebound from a tough 2024 season, and secure their first winning record since 2022. They open the 2025 slate Aug. 30 at Southern Miss.
Between the “Dark Mode” blackout and the “Snow Bowl” throwback, MSU will showcase two alternative looks this fall. Both are rooted in school tradition, giving the fans fresh visuals while honoring the program’s history.
