Mississippi State will take a trip down to Baton Rouge in Week 7 as it faces LSU on Saturday.
The Bulldogs have had the open week to stew over a 56-23 loss to Alabama, a game where Kamario Taylor was picked off twice and Fluff Bothwell was sidelined with an ankle injury. Both players were listed as questionable on the team’s initial availability report released Wednesday night.
Whether or not Taylor and/or Bothwell play, the Bulldogs will hope to get a win against an LSU team licking its wounds after an emotional loss. The Tigers were upset by Kentucky, 35-34, in overtime, dropping to 1-2 in the SEC.
On Thursday night, Mississippi State showed off its uniform combination for Saturday’s game, modeled by cornerback Jett Jefferson. The Bulldogs will be sporting maroon jerseys and helmets with white pants and gloves, as you can see below:
The Bulldogs have taken their lumps against the Tigers in recent years. LSU enters Saturday’s game on a three-game winning streak in the series. Overall, the Tigers hold a 75-36-3 edge all-time against the Bulldogs.
The last time Mississippi State won at Tiger Stadium was in 2020, its first game under the late Mike Leach. KJ Costello threw for an SEC-record 623 yards in a 44-34 Bulldog win.
