Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald continues to make statements on the football field.

Fitzgerald added to an SEC record he already held with his 13th 100-yard rushing game as a quarterback on Saturday in the Bulldogs’ home game against UMass.

Fitzgerald busted through the Minutemen defense for a 10-yard score in the third quarter to give State the lead — shortly after tying the game with an 8-yard TD run.

The guy is basically a running back. He was averaging nine yards per carry in Saturday’s game at the time of this post.

Mississippi State was leading UMass 27-20 at the end of the third quarter. Fitzgerald had 112 rushing yards to go along with 130 passing.

Fitzgerald also passed Johnny Manziel for fifth all-time in career rushing by SEC QBs:
