Mizzou goes into Michigan, beats out Wolverines for 2027 WR

Charles “Tre” Britton III prefers MU to UM.

Britton is the newest commitment for Mizzou. The wide receiver from Michigan announced his verbal pledge to play for Eli Drinkwitz‘s program on Tuesday, live on YouTube.

Out of Belleville (Michigan) High School, Britton is listed as measuring 5-11 and 175 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Britton is rated 3-stars, the No. 13 player in the state of Michigan, No. 98 wide receiver and No. 845 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

Britton drew interest from coast to coast. Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Penn State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah and Vanderbilt are among Britton’s 35 listed scholarship offers.

For Tuesday’s big decision, Britton narrowed it down to Mizzou, Michigan and Miami. He chose MU over the UM schools.

With Britton on board, Mizzou now has 19 verbal pledges for 2027. The class currently ranks No. 26 nationally on the Composite.

Fans can get a preview of what Britton brings to Columbia by checking out highlights from 2025. He logged 53 catches, 981 receiving yards, 1,459 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior.
