The Miami Hurricanes are one of only two college football programs still with a game to play, but one of their defensive linemen has already reportedly decided where he will be transferring to in 2026.

On3 reported Sunday that Donta Simpson Jr., who has played in eight of the Miami’s 15 games, is headed to Missouri in the 2026 transfer portal class.

A 6-foot-3, 300-pound true freshman in 2025, Simpson recorded four total tackles (one solo) and a quarterback hurry. He played for the Hurricanes as a reserve against Bethune-Cookman, South Florida, Louisville, Stanford, SMU, Syracuse, NC State and Virginia Tech.

A 3-star prospect from Chaminade-Madonna High School in Fort Lauderdale, Simpson considered Maryland, Minnesota, NC State and West Virginia before signing with Miami in the 2025 class.

Missouri now has 14 incoming transfer portal commitments, which also includes edge rusher Jaden Jones from Florida State. Simpson is Miami’s eighth declared transfer player, and the Hurricanes have three incoming players so far.

Miami (13-2) is set to play Indiana in the College Football Playoff championship game Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Missouri finished 8-5, including four regular-season losses to ranked SEC teams and a 13-7 loss to No. 19 Virginia in the Gator Bowl.
