Mizzou is set to lose its second offensive lineman of the day to the transfer portal ahead of its official opening on Friday.
Jayven Richardson, a member of the Tigers’ roster for the past two seasons, will enter the portal, according to CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz. Richardson will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Richardson, originally from Louisiana, started his college career in junior college at Hutchinson CC, playing in just three games. He then signed with Mizzou in Nov. 2023 and enrolled in time for the 2024 season.
During his first season in Columbia, Richardson played in six games. But that playing time increased in 2025 as he appeared in 10 games and made a pair of starts. He was part of an offensive line that helped Ahmad Hardy rush for the second-highest total in FBS.
Earlier on Tuesday, fellow offensive lineman Johnny Williams IV reportedly expressed his own intentions to enter the portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining. Coupled with Richardson, that makes 12 Mizzou players who are bound for the portal. That list is headed up by quarterback Beau Pribula, who spent just one season with the Tigers after transferring in from Penn State and will have one season remaining.
