There’s still work to do on the 2015 recruiting trail for two-time Eastern Division champ Mizzou who is currently ranked 12th in the SEC with 14 commits.

Here’s a review of Mizzou’s strengths heading into bowl week after the holiday and a few predictions on where the Tigers could end up in February. We use 247Sports’ team rankings and individual composite player lists to determine grades:

Current standing

  • National recruiting rank: 40th
  • SEC recruiting rank: 12th
  • Number of commits or signees: 14

Signed, sealed, delivered

  • Malik Cuellar, OL, San Francisco, Ca. (Three-star)

Notable hard commits

  • Drew Lock, QB, Lees Summit, Mo. (Four-star)
  • Natereace Strong, RB, East Saint Louis, Ill. (Four-star)
  • Chase Abbington, RB, Hutchinson, Kan. (Four-star)

Remaining primary targets

  • Terry Beckner Jr., DE, East Saint Louis, Ill. (Five-star)
  • Kirk Merritt, ATH, Destrehan, La. (Four-star)

Signing Day surprise

  • The Tigers are confident they can lure Terry Beckner Jr. to Columbia who would become 2015’s only five-star signing. The athletic, 6-foot-5 defensive end from East Saint Louis could step in for departures Shane Ray and Markus Golden up front and provide instant impact off the edge for the Tigers.
