NFL Network draft expert claims Alabama has close to 20 draftable prospects

The NFL has long taken advantage of the talent-rich SEC through the draft, but this season and draft cycle certainly measures up with any in recent memory. At least with one team.
A former NFL scout now working as an NFL Network analyst, Daniel Jeremiah said an NFL personnel executive sent him 17 names from Alabama alone to watch ahead of the NFL Draft. Add in Georgia’s projected prospects, and Saturday’s SEC Championship Game will feature nearly two dozen prospects.
Alabama DT Quinnen Williams has lifted his stock perhaps more than any other player this season, and is projected by some mock drafts to go No. 1 overall. Williams leads a group of about five Alabama players expected to go in the first round, compared to just CB Deandre Baker at Georgia. But by this estimate, that leaves some 12 more players to be drafted in the remaining six rounds.
Much like other areas of the program, Alabama’s depth shines through in this example, as the running narrative about college football in general in recent years is that some teams can measure up with the top talent at Alabama. But the Crimson Tide separate themselves down the depth chart and roster.
It’ll be interesting to see if any of these draft-eligible players make a play on a larger stage with the likes of the NFL watching closely.
I asked an NFL personnel exec to send me the names of the draft eligible, draftable prospects to watch at Alabama. He sent me 17 names. Going to be a busy few days watching all these dudes.
