The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies face another stern test Saturday on the road against No. 20 LSU (7:30 pm ET, ABC), including perhaps the most raucous atmosphere in the SEC in the form of a night-time game at Tiger Stadium.
ESPN College GameDay analyst and former LSU coach Nick Saban broke down the Aggies’ offense on the show earlier Saturday, pointing out that Texas A&M adding receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion via the transfer portal allows head coach Mike Elko plenty of options.
“A&M has been very good at running the football and they’ve got a very good offensive line, but the addition of these two receivers have given them great speed to go with Marcel Reed – who is a good passer and can also beat you with his feet,” said Saban before intricately breaking down pass plays on a big screen.
Craver leads the Aggies (7-0 overall, 4-0 SEC) in both receptions (36) and receiving yards (674), while Concepcion (33 receptions for 500 yards) paces the team with 6 touchdown catches.
Saban pointed out that LSU (5-2, 2-2) will try to squeeze the pocket on Reed and play tight man-to-man defense on the edges – which he says would be quite effective if the Tigers are able to stop the run.
