Nick Saban discusses Tua Tagovailoa’s return from thumb injury

The Alabama Crimson Tide watched as sophomore QB Tua Tagovailoa broke his thumb last week, causing concerns about whether he’d be able to return this spring.
However, on Tuesday, Tagovailoa was back in uniform and back on the field, participating in most of the drills during the practice session.
Following the practice, coach Nick Saban discussed the young quarterback’s return, saying he did pretty much everything that would be asked of a quarterback during a game:

Tagovailoa is locked in a battle for the starting job with junior Jalen Hurts this spring, as both quarterbacks will try to make their case the next couple of weeks and through the summer.
Having Tagovailoa back on the field makes things more interesting, but he’ll need to be at full strength if he wants to win the job.
