Nick Saban, according to himself, hasn’t seen the new Lane Kiffin documentary put out by E60: The Many Lives of Lane Kiffin.

The documentary, which is very good, details the coaching career and gets into the personal life of the current Ole Miss head coach. Kiffin has a unique personality – that goes without saying – and the film recounts his time at Fresno State, with the Oakland Raiders, at Tennessee, USC, FAU and Ole Miss.

And of course, his stint as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2014-2016.

Saban was in the documentary, too. The former Alabama head coach sat down with E60 to give a fresh perspective of what it was like working with Kiffin. But on Friday while speaking with Pat McAfee, Saban mentioned that he had not seen the documentary because, “I lived it for 3 years. That was good enough for me. “

Saban and Kiffin’s personalities clashed a bit while he was on the sideline at Alabama, but it should be known that there is no animosity between the pair. Saban went on a little later and complimented Kiffin: “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Lane,” Saban said, via AL.com. “This guy is a great coach.”

“He did a great job for us,” Saban continued. “He’s a great play caller. I think he’s matured along the way. I actually think he’s a much better head coach at this station or even at the station we had him than he was an assistant… I’m glad to see he’s overcome so much adversity, some of it self-inflicted, to be in a position to have success.”
