Nick Saban will enjoy the Sugar Bowl win over Clemson for a hot minute, and then, the Tide will turn their attention toward the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Tide and Dawgs will play in an all-SEC national championship next Monday night, and the haters are already buzzing about it.

Alabama utterly suffocated Clemson Monday night 24-6, and Saban hopped on ESPN with Scott Van Pelt to talk about the win over the Tigers.

Here’s a recap of the main topics:

  • Saban said it was a ferocious effort by the defensive players and added, “We had to do what we did on offense and shorten the game a bit.”
  • “It was a ferocious competitive spirit by the defensive players.”
  • The key to winning these types of games is getting off the field on third down, Saban said. “We did a great job on third down.”
  • “Jeremy Pruitt and the defensive staff did a great job in this game.”
  • “I think our players wanted to re-establish our identity after what happened last year.”

Alabama will play Georgia in the national championship Monday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
