Oklahoma got a big-time commitment from a big-time 2027 prospect on Sunday afternoon, with 4-star defensive lineman Elija Harmon telling On3 that he’ll be heading to Norman to play his college football in a couple of years.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound product will be leaving the West Coast to head to SEC country in 2027. He’s an Inglewood, Calif., product who has chosen Oklahoma over fellow proud programs USC, Nebraska and Oregon, with that Big Ten trio losing out on Harmon. SEC rival Texas A&M was also in the mix for Harmon.

“ALL IN!! Home sweet home!” wrote Harmon on social media in announcing his decision to play at Oklahoma.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Harmon is the 206th-ranked player in the Class of 2027. He’s also the 25th-ranked defensive lineman in the class and the 21st-ranked player from the state of California.

Harmon is now the 11th commit to Oklahoma’s 2027 recruiting class, the 4th defensive player and the 2nd defensive lineman to pledge his commitment to OU for the 2027 season. Oklahoma has now landed 3 recruits from California in its 2027 recruiting class.

Oklahoma’s 2027 recruiting class is currently ranked 1st in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, with Harmon’s commitment elevating the Sooners’ class to the top of those rankings on Sunday.
