Oklahoma has updated its Week 1 depth chart ahead of its season-opener against UTEP on Friday night.
The Sooners are big favorites against UTEP. This game is expected to be a tune-up for Oklahoma as it prepares to face Michigan on the road in Week 2.
There aren’t many surprises on the depth chart โ Oklahoma returns quarterback John Mateer, leading receiver Isaiah Sategna and numerous key defensive players from last season, but there are a few things worth noting.
First, Oklahoma will turn to Ryan Fodje at center in Week 1. He will (at least temporarily) replace Jake Maikkula, who started at center for OU in 2025 but suffered an injury in fall camp and won’t be ready to start the season.

At running back, Lloyd Avant and Xavier Robinson are listed as co-starters. Avant is a Colorado State transfer who earned significant buzz this offseason. Robinson is entering his 3rd season as a key contributor for OU in the backfield. Sophomore Tory Blaylock and true freshman Jonathan Hatton could also see snaps this fall.
There are a few other positions listed with starters who have an ‘OR’ designation โ tight end, X receiver, right guard and right defensive end.
